  • Hello! I'm still alive

I guess another boring bullet list is the fastest way to update when I have been so neglectful to my little bloggie world.

    • Quilt show is two weeks away: need to finish one personal project and of course anything that I am responsible for as a show chair.I love that weekend and am nervous it will all go smooth.
    • We are going to a bday party for some kids tonight, when Josh remarries in Aug they will be our niece and nephew. The kids will have fun.
    • Kids are on Spring Break Yippee!!
    • Hopefully we will be able to see Andy soon.
    • Lactation Dept was apparently cut from the hospital's budget so we might see an upswing in breastfeeding help calls for LLL. Not even going to say more on the stupidity of that choice...
    • Have read a few good novels lately 2 by Kay Hooper.
    • Couponing has been good overall and has saved us quite a bit of $ on grocerie ssince I started.
    • I have bought a few seeds for the summer garden.
    • I won a cool book at Quilt Guild : The Sweet Life by Heather Mulder Peterson. She will be coming im June to our guild to do a lecture and a workshop.
    • Talked to cousin Chris last night...he is headed to Missouri for more Army stuff. His brother Eric is on his way back to Afganistan for another tour.
    • Hoping that my girls are having fun on the quilting retreat even though I am not there with them. (It's quiet with out me I know...)
    • We plan on going to Doug and Candi's for a final four party on Monday. we don't care at all about basketball but love hanging out with the gang.

  • Lets see what I get done!!

My goal for the day is to get some things done around the house. It seems as if the toys have filtered into the common spaces a bit too much again. We don't have a Toy Room so we keep the toys mainly in the kids room and in our Rec Room in the basement. But it seems as if they have taken over other places too. The kids play with their toys more if I do this every so often. The boys cleaned their room yesterday enough so I could run the vacuum so I thought today is a good day to get to it. I will just haul a few things up again so the L.R. does not look quite as cluttered. I also would like NOTHING on our main counter by the end of the morning. This is the main hotspot at our house for random dropping of misc items...every house has a few of those and I don't think it will take me long to do that. I will concentrate on the main floor.
I did all the laundry yesterday, just have to finish getting socks put away and might leave that to the boys.
I am hoping that Steve can help Garrett finish his birdhouse project this week so it can be out of the office too! It just needs to be nailed together.
I made Millie a dress, an outfit (shirt and pants) and a skirt last week. Mostly fabric I got in the cities at Mill End a while ago. Valentine fabric for the dress, since she missed being a valentine bday by one hour.
I shopped for my mother in law Sandi's bday yesterday. I always have so many things i can get her as she is a quilter too. She wanted new containers to organize her different types of flour and sugars in her pantry. That was fun to get, and now I would like some things too! Doesn't that always happen when you are shopping?! I also found a set of a tablecloth with 12 cloth napkins that I thought she would love to embroider on with her Bernina. Thats done now I just have to get gift cards for Kallie and Kole my twin neice and nephew. We are doing all 4 bdays on Sunday after church at Josh's house.
So basically today i will do anything except work on that quilt that has a deadline coming up!! Whoops!

  • All right all right... we are here and I have been a very poor blogger I know...

    • Maybe I need to do a Bullet List....
    • Zacha is into Bakugan and so is Garrett. They play with them and trade them and leave them around for their sister to touch... and then they have a heart attack when she does...
    • I have been trying to be frugal with the grocery bills and have started to coupon and stockpile. It feels good to get a bit of extra in the house in these uncertain construction times!
    • Steve has been very busy with construction deadlines and other things. He has been gone alot at night and the kids and I are missing him alot.
    • I am forever thankful for a husband that will work when there is work and who will seek out extra to make things happen for us.
    • I have a quilt that needs to be finished for a contest at a Local Quilt Shop by the 28th. I have no inspiration to finish this.
    • I also have to quilt a baby quilt pronto for a friend who is due soon!! That is all pieced and just need to be put together. By rights I could tie it and have it done pretty quickly.
    • Facebook is way too addicting and faster and easier than maintaining an actual blog.Blogging is way more fufilling .
    • Millie will be three in 11 days. Where has time gone? She is basically done nursing. Yesterday she asked and then forgot before we actually did her 10 second latch. She goes nearly a week between...
    • If I am gonna have another baby I should probably start actively trying. Somedays feel like we have enough...but maybe not...hmmmmm.
    • My grandma and grandpa both have cancer and are not treating it. He has already lived longer than the prognosis said. I think not taking alot of toxic drugs is giving him better quality of life.
    • I am doing  a veg garden this year. We plowed a plot last fall. I am nervous that it just won't turn out.
    • Steve has lost a bunch of weight. He looks good and has not been this thin in over a decade.
    • I am exactly the same as always...LOL
    • added new photos above!

My Mitten Experiment worked!! I used old wool sweaters on the outside and new fleece on the inside. I already had the sweaters and bought the fleece for $5. Made 4 pairs of Mittens and have quite a bit of fleece left. They are really warm. I am excited to use them on walks this fall.
